Jeremy Corbyn’s son launches The National Hemp Service

Jeremy Corbyn’s youngest son Tommy is to open a hemp shop in London next month.

The National Hemp Service will sell a range of products, all made from hemp, from their Islington store.

Tommy and his girlfriend Chloe Kerslake-Smith will stock products made by independent, like-minded businesses.

Pushing for a wider understanding of cannabis, Tommy Corbyn’s hemp shop aims to make the public aware of hemp’s benefits.

He said:

“We want to champion hemp as a material for all different things. We think cannabis has been demonised for a long time…. We don’t want people to be afraid of the plants.”

“Hemp offers a huge amount of solutions to the problems of today, in terms of agriculture, environment, even economically, if we all started growing hemp it would help.”

“Especially in the Brexit environment when we are not going to be able to export much to the European Union, hemp is part of the solution.”

Tommy Corbyn’s hemp shop will focus on education and awareness

The couple hope that the shop will become a base for cannabis awareness, campaigning and educational events.

Tommy Corbyn said:

“There is only so much I can tell people; I have to show them.”

“It’s not a dingy smoking den… we want people to come in and really go away having learned about the plant.”

“We want to help push legislation forward – it’s the answer to a lot of our health and sustainability issues.”

Tommy is also the director of a separate hemp company called The Hemp Cafe.
