Hemp hits the runway at New York Fashion Week
Fashion designer Korto Momolu will debut her new range made from hemp at New York Fashion Week on Saturday.
The designer has created a large hemp-based range in collaboration with Women Grow, the largest female networking organisation for women in the hemp and cannabis industry.
When asked about her green garments, Korto said:
“To sum it up in one phrase: it’s ‘for women, by women’”
Catering to every style, Korto Momolu has created high fashion, pardon the pun, and ‘athleisure’ pieces to display at the iconic fashion event.
The designer has blended eloquence with environmental care using hemp and sustainable fabrics.
Hemp hits the runway in a fashion first
The Project Runway design star will make history when she displays her cannabis-based range in a first for New York Fashion Week.
The CEO of Women Grow Chanda Macias told reporters:
“This is a HERstoric show for us. This is where cannabis meets high fashion on the runway.
“There is such a stigma around cannabis and women. We have a unique opportunity that we hope will speak to the world.
“Women in this industry are professional, stylish and [have] amazing talents.”
