Hemp gin brings home the gold at the World Gin Awards
A small family-run distillery has picked up a prestigious award for its hemp-infused gin
Gindica Gin won gold in the London Dry Gin category in the first round of the World Gin Awards and is the first hemp-infused gin to get the gong.
Gindica’s hemp seeds are grown on a farm in Wiltshire and infused with eight other hand-picked botanicals, including juniper, angelica, coriander, oris root, cardamom and lemon peel.
Director Simon Chorley said:
“We chose to allow our quality of spirit to do the talking for us and entered the London Dry category…unfortunately for us this happens to be one of the busiest with the amount of London Dry gins currently on the market!
“The fact that we achieved a Gold award over such established names in production alone fills us with pride.
“The news that we are also the worlds first hemp infused gin to achieve this is simply overwhelming.”
