Study demonstrates anti-ageing properties of CBD
A study supported by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) demonstrates the anti-ageing properties of CBD
The PurHealthRX® clinical trial using their full spectrum hemp CBD oil, found cannabidiol impacted on a variety of anti-ageing factors.
The CBD influenced inflammation, metabolism and cardiovascular indicators as well as anxiety and sleep.
150 patients took part in the randomised placebo-controlled study in the US run by PurHealthRx®.
CEO Matt Smith said:
“We are very pleased that our Purzorb® formulation of full spectrum hemp CBD oil showed such a strong effect in these anti-aging factors.”
“Inflammation and cardiovascular problems are part of the aging process.”
“By showing a significant effect on so many of these factors, there is strong evidence that the endocannabinoid system plays a significant tole in the anti-again process.”
Previous investigations into Purzorb® showed that 50% of the CBD was detectable in human subjects’ bloodsteams within 15 minutes of administration.
Are there other anti-ageing properties of CBD?
Ageing causes inflammation in many areas of the body, including joints, muscles and the skin.
Various studies have shown the significant anti-inflammatory properties of CBD.
Other studies have proven that CBD is an effective antioxidant, which reduces signs of ageing.
Antioxidants reduce the number of free radicals in the body, which cause collagen to break down faster.
Collagen keeps skin firm and strong, but after the age of 20 it is thought humans produce 1% less collagen each year.
As we age, our skin becomes thinner and more delicate due to a reduction in collagen and elastin levels.
So, it is unsurprising that increasing numbers of health and beauty consumers have begun to harness the anti-ageing properties of CBD.
From acne to atopic dermatitis to ageing, CBD could be your skin’s saviour.
