USA: Sephora announces largest CBD partnership to date
Cannabis-based beauty products have been sold by retail giant Sephora for some time now, but their newest luxury CBD partnership with Saint Jane is the biggest to date
Even though the CBD company only perfected their Luxury Beauty Serum four months ago, it has become their best-selling product, and has now landed in a prime position in Sephora stores.
Saint Jane products will join those of Lord Jones and Milk Makeup on the shelves of the beauty boutiques across 22 US states.
Company founder and CEO Casey Georgeson said:
“Even with my background, to be totally honest I thought ‘there is no way Sephora is going to bring this on.
“We’re not even a brand yet. We have 100 followers on Instagram.
“[I thought] they’re just going to look at this as a favour and tell me, ‘okay Casey, this is a cute little idea you have here. Don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
But, Casey was wrong.
Vice president of skincare merchandising at Sephora, Cindy Deily, said:
“We saw a strong desire for an assortment of prestige CBD offerings, and Saint Jane has been a pioneer in growing the space.
“With their goal of bringing CBD to the forefront as an efficacious ingredient in prestige skincare, Saint Jane is passionate about education and category innovation and ingredient exploration.
“And [we] are thrilled to introduce more of our community to this new indie brand.”
As of January 10, the following products are available at 281 Sephora stores on the Indie Beauty Wall:
- Microdose Lip Gloss containing 50mg of CBD ($28)
- Luxury Beauty Serum made from 500mg of CBD ($125)
- Luxury Body Serum infused with 200mg of CBD ($58)
According to their website:
“We are proudly clean, 100% pure, all-natural, vegan, cruelty-free, sustainably sourced and made in California.”
This CBD company uses full spectrum CBD to help create the ‘entourage effect’.
Sephora joins a growing list of US retailers stocking CBD beauty products that includes Abercrombie & Fitch and the country’s largest grocery chain, Kroger.
