But does the research back up the touted benefits?
Acne
Acne can be caused by hormonal imbalances, stress, unhealthy diets and improper skincare.
Spots are usually formed by a build up of sebum and bacteria secretions. If the skin produces too much of these then it can lead to acne.
A study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation showed that CBD inhibited sebum production in the skin and also had an anti-inflammatory effect.

Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease where skin cells grow and divide up to 10 times faster than normal. This makes the skin build up into bumpy red patches covered with white scales usually on the scalp, elbows, knees and lower back.
A study of psoriasis patients conducted last year in Italy showed that topical CBD products reduced these symptoms.
Five patients applied a cream to their affected areas twice a day for three months. The patients reported an improved quality of life as the itchiness was reduced.

Rosacea
Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes visible blood vessels in the face, inflammation and irritated bumps. It is characterised by red flushing or small pus-filled bumps or spots. The condition is often made worse by stress.
While there are no studies on CBD and rosacea, it could help with the anxiety caused by the condition which often makes symptoms worse.
An analysis of studies concluded that cannabinoids have potential to treat some types of anxiety disorders.
